Colorbar Triple Act Compact

Standard

My search for a compact that would last really long ended at the Colorbar counter few weeks ago. I asked the SA to show me a good compact and she started applying this foundation like thing om my hand.

Me: I have asked for a compact and you are showing me foundation??

SA: Ma’am this is 3 in one.. foundation, compact and concealer.. it is very effective and you can use this instead of a compact.

Me: No, I do not want this.. I want something for my oily skin. Something to control oil. I do not want this. (Purchased Matina and left with this still on my hand).

And the whole day I kept staring my hand.. am I noticing some difference… was the SA right in showing me this? hmmm somehow I was so interested in this that the next day it was in my bag. 🙂

Colorbar says,

‘Incredibly soft lightweight versatile three in one  makeup with foundation, compact and concealer that creates an illusion of makeup free, glowing complexion. Sun protection formula provides unbelievable coverage that wears on for hours together, oil free, non-comedogenic.’

colorbar compact

Packaging:

Packed inside a plastic container like that of normal compacts. The best part is that it has 2 levels inside one has the sponge and the other has triple act compact. This is really good of Colorbar to keep sponge away from the compact to avoid the product wastage.

And there’s a mirror to :).

Texture:

It is lightweight and soft with creamy foundation like consistency. It isn’t cakey at all and blends easily.

How to apply:

I jut dot my face with this and blend it with a wet sponge.

My experience with it:

Apart from the compact, I really wanted something to apply daily on my face just like BB creams. And I was almost done with my Maybelline BB cream. That’s another reason I was attracted to it even more and asked the SA if this is fit enough for everyday use. And she said you will love it once you start applying.

First I moisturized my face then I applied this by dotting and blending it. I could notice the immediate difference it made, my skin had the soft  and glowing. It is actually lightweight, it didn’t bother me at all.. not even once I felt that I have something layered on my face. It settles itself quiet easily and gives a natural look. Hmmm about the blemishes I would say it gives medium coverage.. it hides the light ones perfectly but the dark and recent ones (of recent acne) were made light by this wonder.

And about the compact part I would give it 3 out of 5.. it controls oil but not for a very long time. After some time I have to dab some compact over my face.

Pros:

  • Gives natural look to the face.
  • Makes skin glowing soft.
  • Medium coverage for blemishes.
  • Blends easily.
  • Sponge isn’t resting on the product :).
  • Last for really long.
  • Travel friendly.

Cons:

  • I wish it could control oil for longer.

Am I going to buy this again??

Yes, for sure.. however this will last really long as I don’t have to use a lot of product. 😀

Colorbar Soft Touch Lipstick: Matina

Standard

My new found love Colorbar is doing wonders for my lips :). And here’s my second lipstick from this brand (See the first one here).

Colorbar says,

‘Give your lips a soft and smooth look with the Soft Touch Lipstick. Its rich creamy formula enhances the lips, while keeping them moisturised and nourished. With Vitamin A and E and apricot oil, the Soft Touch Lipstick has anti-aging properties that protect the lips from chapping and discolouration. With a unique fig fragrance, the Soft Touch Lipstick is available in classy shades.’

Price Rs. 325.

Packaging:

Hey I love metallic covers and this one is pure metallic.. not even that plastic cap like that of Velvet Mattes :). I don’t know why I am so fascinated by the metallics. But the Velvet Mattes have the best thing at their bottom… err I mean they have that lipstick tub which makes it easy to identify them. Hope Colorbar would do the same for these as well or how about a mark on the Metallic body which should resemble the color.

NOTD: Nail of the Day

Standard

Todays Fridayyyyy yyyaayy…yuppiieeee we are so close to the weekend… don’t we all love Fridays?? Unlike the gloomy Mondays in office.. we have relaxed atmosphere on Fridays.. everyone at their chirpier best talking about weekend plans.

But in the midst of all I was getting bored.. naaahhh not exactly bored (my life doesn’t give me time to even get bored.. sigh!). But ya I was in one of my Red moods.. when I want to wear red.. paint my nail red or wear my best red Lippiiee… heres what I did under the influence of my red mood today :D.

My simple NOTD:

The nail paint may look a little messy not applied perfectly..  but that’s because of my mind who really wants to sleep but my eyes wanted a splash of red :).

Max factor Liquid Effect Pencil: Brown Blaze

Standard

I have this section added in my blog called ‘Makeup’ where to my surprise I just write about lipsticks.. 🙂

So today I, despite of all that temptation from my new lipstick, will write about this eyeliner. I have been using it for quite sometime and was wearing it yesterday as well.

Haha while writing this post guess what am I singing… Honey Singh’s  Kudiye ni tere brown rang ne, munde patt te ni saare mere town de… Lols

Coming back to this wand in my hand:

Texture and pigmentation:
Soft and creamy. It says Liquid effect… it’s not at all glossy however, it glided smoothly over the lids and gave opaque coverage in just one swipe.  I do not have to pull skin around my eyes to apply this.

It has a smudger attached at the other end of the pencil to create a smoky eye look :D. You can smudge this easily with the help of that smudger. I use it with other eye pencils too.  It’s really easy to clean the surface of the smudger as well.

Price: Around 325 (I am really bad at remembering prices 😦 ) Read the rest of this entry
