Queen of Controversy

Guess whose taking all the lime light of being the most preferred lip cream ‘at an affordable price’ …

To do the honors let me call upon stage– Swati R *Clap! Clap! Clap!*

MISS CLAIRE… it is!!!!!

Okay!!! So here’s the history…I saw a girl wearing perfect Maroonish lip shade and couldn’t stop myself from asking about it! That sweet lady not only told me but bought the same shade for me.

Google search on Miss Claire leads to nothing but the websites selling it or the reviews already up on several blogs! The concern I have around these much hyped lip creams is- why every seller, every shop quotes a different price?

The same lip color can cost you from Rs.150 to Rs.350 depending on from where you are buying it. Even on Instagram I saw it easily getting Rs. 350 to paint your lips.

This super smooth easy to apply lip cream glides perfectly on the lips and settles to a perfect matte within a minute. It can dry your lips so using a lip balm before applying it is important. I usually apply a lip balm after washing my face and then, just before applying the lipcolor, I remove it with a tissue.

So, I tested this lip color in Fuchsia Pink for 10 hours– reapplied once. After three hours it became flaky and I could feel something on my lips. But one look in the mirror tells me that I can still leave it for a while. It passed the spoon test with just a little color on the spoon.

After the lunch, it was still there but looking ugly… all flaky and dry, as if its torn. See for yourself.

Just before it was totally gone….

That’s when I reapplied after removing it with the tissue. But seriously, when you apply these you are sure to get some compliments!!!!

Overall, I liked them. Reapplying after 3-4 hours is ok for me in the office but yea wearing them to a party is something I would never do. Definitely I would repurchase them for the value for money and they are NYX Dupe.

Do let me know your experience with these in the comments box below 🙂

Colorbar Triple Act Compact

My search for a compact that would last really long ended at the Colorbar counter few weeks ago. I asked the SA to show me a good compact and she started applying this foundation like thing om my hand.

Me: I have asked for a compact and you are showing me foundation??

SA: Ma’am this is 3 in one.. foundation, compact and concealer.. it is very effective and you can use this instead of a compact.

Me: No, I do not want this.. I want something for my oily skin. Something to control oil. I do not want this. (Purchased Matina and left with this still on my hand).

And the whole day I kept staring my hand.. am I noticing some difference… was the SA right in showing me this? hmmm somehow I was so interested in this that the next day it was in my bag. 🙂

Colorbar says,

‘Incredibly soft lightweight versatile three in one  makeup with foundation, compact and concealer that creates an illusion of makeup free, glowing complexion. Sun protection formula provides unbelievable coverage that wears on for hours together, oil free, non-comedogenic.’

colorbar compact

Packed inside a plastic container like that of normal compacts. The best part is that it has 2 levels inside one has the sponge and the other has triple act compact. This is really good of Colorbar to keep sponge away from the compact to avoid the product wastage.

And there’s a mirror to :).

It is lightweight and soft with creamy foundation like consistency. It isn’t cakey at all and blends easily.

How to apply:

I jut dot my face with this and blend it with a wet sponge.

My experience with it:

Apart from the compact, I really wanted something to apply daily on my face just like BB creams. And I was almost done with my Maybelline BB cream. That’s another reason I was attracted to it even more and asked the SA if this is fit enough for everyday use. And she said you will love it once you start applying.

First I moisturized my face then I applied this by dotting and blending it. I could notice the immediate difference it made, my skin had the soft  and glowing. It is actually lightweight, it didn’t bother me at all.. not even once I felt that I have something layered on my face. It settles itself quiet easily and gives a natural look. Hmmm about the blemishes I would say it gives medium coverage.. it hides the light ones perfectly but the dark and recent ones (of recent acne) were made light by this wonder.

And about the compact part I would give it 3 out of 5.. it controls oil but not for a very long time. After some time I have to dab some compact over my face.

  • Gives natural look to the face.
  • Makes skin glowing soft.
  • Medium coverage for blemishes.
  • Blends easily.
  • Sponge isn’t resting on the product :).
  • Last for really long.
  • Travel friendly.

  • I wish it could control oil for longer.

Am I going to buy this again??

Yes, for sure.. however this will last really long as I don’t have to use a lot of product. 😀

Back To Blog!!!!!

Ahaann… After three long years I am back to My Blog..

I sooo missed my blog because of my own lazy attitude towards it. Nothing but the lazy attitude I would say Blogging isn’t just about writing/reviewing stuff. But the maximum times goes in editing, thinking about a new blog post, taking the pictures and also water marking them.

So, this time after learning from my past mistakes I am not going to rush for the posts. Earlier, my attitude was that I need to upload at least one post in a day which made me lazy later. Now, I may not upload posts daily but I will make sure I upload them once a week and make them worth reading.

Enough of my blah blah!!! Here’s a sneak peak of the upcoming posts… 😉

VLCC Skin Defense Sandal Cleansing Milk

The advise we always receive,’ We should never sleep with out makeup clinging to the face’ is the ultimate truth to have a healthy and youthful skin. Be it anything your eyeshadows or the foundation they all have some chemicals. And sleeping with these can make your skin breakout or early aging. So the most important part of the skin care routine Cleansing should never be avoided.

I have a really soft corner for products which claim to be made from natural ingredients. And VLCC is one such brand which promises just that.

VLCC claims, ‘This refreshing, non-foaming cleansing milk is enriched with the goodness of Sandalwood, Almond and Indian Berberry extracts. It deep cleanses, nourishes and heals the skin’.

Price: Rs. 125 for 100ml.

It has a shelf life of 36 months. Read the rest of this entry

Hey I love metallic covers and this one is pure metallic.. not even that plastic cap like that of Velvet Mattes :). I don’t know why I am so fascinated by the metallics. But the Velvet Mattes have the best thing at their bottom… err I mean they have that lipstick tub which makes it easy to identify them. Hope Colorbar would do the same for these as well or how about a mark on the Metallic body which should resemble the color.
